At Sotted Bee Meadery, we believe that every bottle of local honey mead should tell a story — a story of hard work, local flavor, and the craft of small-batch fermentation. As a veteran-owned meadery rooted in our community, we create mead using only the finest locally sourced honey and ingredients. By supporting local beekeepers and embracing sustainable brewing practices, our mission is simple: to honor tradition, celebrate nature, and bring people together over a drink as old as history itself.
We're the Sotted Bee Meadery—veteran-owned, rooted in community, and built on a history of excellence.
Mead is the oldest alcoholic beverage on earth. Once poured for kings and emperors, we're now crafting local honey mead for small-town America.
No artificial chemicals, no fillers or sweeteners, no dyes — just the simple ingredients that have been gifted to us by our Creator and have withstood the test of time.
Respect for Creation is at the heart of our craft. We are a veteran-owned meadery that strives for sustainable brewing practices from hive to bottle — supporting local pollinators, minimizing waste, and sourcing responsibly.
Right now, we lead with session (7% ABV) nitro meads on draft, crafted using local honey mead and designed for gatherings with smooth pours.

Your favorite batches and new introductions, canned for enjoyment at home. Old and new recipes brewed and bottled in the traditional style (12-18% ABV), all produced with sustainable brewing practices. A limited run of honey spirits (40% ABV), distilled from the Sotted Bee's own traditional still mead, proudly brought to you by our veteran-owned meadery.
Session mead is a lighter, more refreshing take on the world’s oldest drink. Lower in alcohol (around 6–7%), it’s brewed to be crisp, smooth, and easy to enjoy by the pint — more like a craft beer than a heavy dessert wine. At Sotted Bee, our session meads are bubbly and smooth, designed for good times with friends.
Traditional mead is the purest form of the drink — just honey, water, and yeast, crafted to highlight the natural flavor of the honey itself. Higher in alcohol than session mead, it’s smooth, complex, and closer in style to wine, with every bottle showcasing the character of the harvest.
